Default 1983 euro 944 specs?

i have a 944 that was imported from germany and i am having some serious trouble finding some specs on it. i found one source saying 1982 944's (which would be a non us version like mine) had 15 more horsepower ( putting them at 161) and weighed in at only 2600lbs. does anyone know for sure? if this is true then performance would be significantly better than a us model. i apreciate the help

yes the earliest euros were lightweights with no ac, power steering or power sunroof (hence no supporting hardware). crank is shorter for earliest factory ps-delete cars which saves a little weight etc...

high compression pistons + no catalyst and some other things makes output around 163hp.

okay thanks for the conformation on that, i got the manuel steering/sunroof. sweet thats good news, that should put my car around the 2.7 liters performance with 200 pounds less weight. sounds like a winning combo to me.

Euro 2.7L had more or less same power figures as euro 2.5L had. 2.7L was just a way to save money when factory made only "one-size-fits-all" style blocks for 8V & 16V configurations.
