Default Quick question for the parts guys.. pop-up removal

When you remove a pop-up headlight unit from the car (just the actual headlight bucket that moves on it's hinges via the linkage), how do you disengage it from the linkage?

There's a circlip holding on a washer, but after taking that off, the headlight unit still doesn't want to come away from the joint at the linkage... it's like a small ball joint.

How do you release it from the linkage? Is there some trick to getting the joint apart, or is just a bit of brute force required?

51 views and no-one knows this? Is the question badly phrased or somehow unclear?
