So on my 24hr of lemons teams on going efforts to stay in the good graces of Jay and the other BS judges with our '88 944 beater car! I have made this out of some misc. 944 parts that were junk and worthless, a broken cam, and cam tower, and auto. flywheel.

I will be purchasing a lamp from the local thrift store or goodwill for a few dollars and using the cord and top of it to attach to this bad boy? Thought I would show it off and see what everyone thinks? This has got to be worth some A+ points for us huh?

Pretty simple just bolted them down with factory hardware and cleaned up then sprayed with clear!

Too cool! Maybe screw some casters on the FW to make it a floor standing lamp and roll it wherever you want.

Is the LeMons 24 hour held in the same place every year? Now that I have some disposable income, I wouldn't mind competing in an event like this, even if I had to do some traveling. Couldn't think of a better way to spend a weekend by picking up a cheap heap and running it into the ground with a few buddies. Heh, and maybe I like the fact that you can bribe the judges too...

It is getting bigger every year but the comapany basically does an event every weekend throughout the year at different race tracks across country. Emphasis on $500 entry level cars where race safety gear and certain parts dont qualify toward the $500!

Anyway updated the post with final product which took 1 1/2 hours total and I spent $2.18 at the local thrift store down the road for a lamp with nice shade, base that would work for me and even came with good flourecent bulb.

I found 1" binder of receipts and pictures and a little liqueur did the trick for us.

We had pay-pal receipts for like $600 of sales from the seats, carpet, HVAC controller, clock etc.. Because it actually had a decent interior it was just the motor was messed up.

And we had the documents to prove we purchased the car for $300 but NO they didnt buy it one bit they socked it to us! Jay didnt want to see any of the receipts his constituants didnt buy it either. So they gave us 1500 BS points which put us 150 laps back, then we did OK throughout the weekend no problems freshened motor ran great.

SO this time we are coming in hot with all kinds of bribes, each one of my 5 person team is bringing something great that we will just keep pulling out slowly as the BS tech guys go over car!

I've had a cam tower set aside for a lamp for about 9 months. I already have a TV stand, coffee table, and end tables made from 924s parts.
