17 y.o. 944 NA's still drive so well!
Just drove my son's 944NA (50,000 miles since new!) and just had to post to say how nice these cars drive and handle - even after 17 years! This one is pretty special, as I have known it from day 1 when a buddy picked it up brand new as a grad gift from his dad.
Well, it truly is a 1 owner well maintained car, and still looks and even smells new! Jumping from my 951S (another car that was really well kept by P.O.), I see a lot of similarities. The basic design was just so well thought out, and the balance and handling still sets a benchmark for modern cars.
We really are a lucky bunch to own these cars! Wonder how many other "father / son" 944/951 owners there are out there??

Funny huh??? I am 19 and I own an 87 S and my dad looked at it for the first time saying, eh? U see he is a BMW fanatic and wasn't too keen on me buying a Porsche.... That all changed very quickly when i let him drive it for the first time.... Every time we go somewhere now he wants to drive my car....

My dad bought my 944 brand new. He sold it a few years later when he had to start his business. I found the car again last year by matching the vin number with the original bill of sale and bought the car back.

I drove Rich's car 1 block, and decided I better look for one for myself! No more MB or BMW's for me!

I know it means a lot to you.
BTW, I have a 1967 Jag E Type roadster too! fully restored, but sadly don't drive it around the city anymore, cause it attracts too much attention and gets damaged!

I always get people who cant tell it apart from an aston martin db5 as they always say "look the James Bond car." I just wish there was a rennlist for Jaguar.
by the way my story on the 944 was published in 9 magazine. I will have to scan the article and post it tomorrow.

I searched far and wide for the right 951 so I could hand-down my 944 to my son. We stumbled across a sweet 914 for him so I get to keep my beloved 944. Might have to put the A/C and P/S back on it someday but I'll drive it till I get too old to drive and that's a fact.
