5-Quart Jugs of Mobil 1 Showing up at WalMart Again
For those of you that change oil A LOT during track season, they just showed up in the suburban Chicago stores at $18.88/container. A little cheaper and a lot more convenient when you have to drop 7 quarts into your trusty steed.
No commercial interest, just passing it along.

Yes, every year at this time we get a big shipment of promotional Mobil 1. Better buy what you want now it goes quick and will be another year before it comes around again. I usually buy one to two cases each year.

Always wondered what those odd-sized 4.4 Litre jugs were all about. Good deal, even if it is a strange size. (P-car takes 7.0 L, Dodge take 5.0 L, Mazda takes 3.0 L, so they sell it by the 4.4 L jug!)

I'll have too look out for these, my dads car take 12 quarts and of course it only gets mobil 1. Talk about an expensive oil change.....
thanks for the heads up.

Guys, here in Europe we have Mobil1 in 0W-40 and 5W-50 grade. I just posted to the 951 forum about switching from my current Mobil1 5W-50 to the new 0W-40 for the added protection against engine wear at start-up, but my question is how much protection will I lose from the 40 versus 50 grade at high operating temperatures?
Would you guys switch? This is a street-only car, but it sees 150+ mph now and then on the Euro highways
Under US$20 for a 5 qt. jug? Ha! Try US$50+ for a 4 liter jug of the 0W-40 stuff here! (The 5W-50 is "on special" at US$30 for a 4-liter jug). Prices are soooo low in the States...

Here in Canada there's a special this week at Canadian Tire: 4 liters of 15/50 for C$25/US$17.\
It's weird the European blends start at 0 and 5. I switch to 5 for my daily driver during the winter, but 15 or 20 is fine for the summer.

I was in the Mart today and picked up two jugs of 10W-30. These were the only two jugs left in that grade.
By the way, this is the grade I have used in my car for the six years I have owned it. Is there a problem with 10W-30?
