Default rear seat delete

I just had a thought about taking my back seats out, they have no seat belts anyway. Its going to be a daily driver for awhile until i can get enough money for racing school, whats your guys thoughts?

Leave the bottom half in. It's light and insulates gearbox area noise.

I've thought about doing a rear seat delete too, but I decided the same thing. Folding them down is alot easier and even if you were to take them out you'd end up with about the same amount of room you started with.

Road noise when you start removing the rear seat and the sound deadening is definitely noticeable.

take out the top half of the seats; you wont notice any noise difference except MAYBE a slight whine from the fuel pump. the bottom half of the seat kills most of the noise.

the top half weighs about 15lbs and is only held in with 2 10mm bolts and takes about 30 seconds to remove.

I just did the delete on mine... Pulled the seats and put down some insulation and carpet. It was really easy and turned out nicely.

same here, just took it all out .
put down some good hush mat , and the duetschnine rear seat delete thingy.
its a custom fiberglass carpeted insert. road noise not too bad.
looks great... i had mildew under backseat from jerk P.O. , so it HAD to go.

there is a lot of weight to be lost for sure! those seats are heavy indeed! I found the top seat that folds down to be the heaviest, and the back seat was relatively light in comparison (the bottom half) since it's just a bunch of foam and padding and material. The top on mine (my 924) had chunks of wood, nails, material, the liner in the back, etc etc...

i ordered the 968 club sport seat delete carpet from D-9. easy enough. it fit's all the cars and kills the road noise.

it's a bit pricey, and then it's heaven once it's in there....

considering you just run a couple of duffle bags for your own stuff... and you can fit enough luggage for wifey and her sisters and then sleep a couple kids back there and a big dog too.... and still see out the rear-view mirror....

almost.

the rear seats are quite a horrible feature of our cars. totally useless, space hogging crap... you'd all be amazed how much stuff i can stuff in those big, case-logic bags.... in 1 of them i got all the stuff needed for washing, waxing and detaling the car. on those very rare occasons that someone would actually be sitting back there, you stuff an eggshell foamy in a bag in one of the rear quarter panels for such a contingency.
