Default WTB: Anyone got a lead on a perfect center console trim piece?

Getting down the nitty gritty on my resto.

My upper center console trim piece (example below) is not perfect. And I need perfect. Mine is probably an 8 on a 1-10 scale. I can't buy a new one from the dealer as they are only available in black and I need the dark (very dark) broiwn that many of our cars came with.

I have purchased, no joke, SEVEN of these on eBay and none are better than mine.

Does anyone have a lead on a pristine (or very near pristine) piece?

You can use Surflex from colorplus to match the color that you need.

I'm only finding two part numbers - one for a left-hand drive, and another one for a right-hand drive. Both are black. I think the brown is a discoloration from age.

I've had this conversation with the parts guys at Sunset. When our cars were new, there were black tirm pieces and dark brown trim pieces. Nobody knows when, or if, the brown pieces were no longer available. For all I know, it may have been from day one.

I have black ones, both new, and used from a black interior 944. They aren't the same. This goes for all the trim pieces and it's been a nightmare finding the right pieces for my restoration.
