Anyone else see this week's episode? I can't find the video online, but he talks about owning a 944.. breaks down at the gas station and he just leaves it there! lol I'm guessing reference sensors!

Saw it too. I don't think he "trashed" the 944, he told everyone the truth about the 944's that they do break. He said he loved the car; just another happy 944 (ex)owner. Lol. I think its cool that that was his first porsche.

If I remember it correctly, the car didn't want to start at the gas station, and in the end, he just called the tow truck guys to take it away for 500 or got 500 for the car after it Being towed. Poor 944.

He didn't dwell on it...he does say he didn't do his research and got a bad one. Could happen with any car, especially a marquee brand that you buy because of your desire to own one - only to find out it was not in good shape.

i'm going to start another thread acusing the 968 and (guilty by association), the non-aspirated 944. of being pretty good "kit" cars.... the 944 Turbo and Supercharged/Turbocharged 968 be tuned past 300 hp, so they're excluded.... just my point of view on the whole matter..... ummm, the electrical systems on all the '80s Porsches, Audi's and BMWs all suffered electrical failures.... there's rarely a 25 year old car that has never had a wire or two chewed by rodents.... the insulation in the German wires has a rather sweet taste that rodents can't seem to resist..... a mouse here or squirrel there will get up in there on a cold fall night after you come home and have himself a snack before dozing off.... the 968 wiring package may be slightly harder to access and eat through.
just a guess.
just a guess.

Yep I watched it.
At least he said it all politely. lol
Oh, I love to run "real" Porsches with my fake Porsche and watch them turn off the road quickly in embarrassment after getting left many car lengths behind.

My .02 worth:
The American version, so far yes......more than half the time.
The British version, no.........more than half the time. I like it alot better than the US version. Even though they bash America about every other episode.
Now that this thread has gone off into left field...........
