2.5l 8V N/A race engine build
I'm building a 2.5l engine for classic rally and track racing with the goal of making a 7500-8000rpm/m rewing engine.
This is the what I have done at the moment:
Knife edged & lighted crank with oil improvement.
Lighted flywheel
Arrow connecting rods
Wössner 100.5 pistons
I have four throttle bodies, MegaSquirt to fit
So now it`s time for the cylinder head. And her come my question what camshaft to use? Any body has any experience of making this type of engine.

You're going to have to do two things to rev that high: convert to solid lifters and dry sump the engine with an external oil pump. Neither stock hydraulic lifters or the oil pump were designed to run at that rpm.
You may want to speak with David Finch at Raetech http://www.raetech.com/944_Racing/944.php He was running a 2.5l 4 valve to about 8000 rpm and getting 280 - 300hp from it.
There's an article in the February 1988 Excellence mag about his car, I'm not sure where you'd find a copy of it however.

Alternatively you can contact Greg Fordahl at Fordahl Motorsports in Bellevue, WA. He has built tons of these cars and is very knowledgeable.
There is one car here running a pretty built 2.5L engine, but it was stepped up to a 16v.
