Question Any owners in South/Central Jersey?

Just wondering if any of you are in the South/Central Jersey area. It would be cool to get a bunch of P-Cars together and go for some food and drink.
I could also use some insight into the best garages/mechanics in the area.

Thus far we've had 3 meetups. 1 in Ramsey, NJ and 2 at or near the Pallisades Center. The next one is at a NNJR autox followed by food/drink on April 21st at Englishtown, NJ.

Here's a pic from the first meetup
Yes, that's snow...yes...that's a bunch of Porsche's in the snow....

Depends on what you consider "central", but there are a few of us in Union/Essex/Morris counties. I like to think of it as North-Central . We just had an impromptu gathering last week. Where are you coming from, should we add you to the list for next time?
BTW, That's my wallpaper at work Adrial, well done and thanks!

I'm in the Burlington County area...

Englishtown looks promising Though I'm not ready to autocross but would love to watch and soak up the Porsche atmosphere.

That's Andy K's plan too last I heard, But I'm not sure if he's planning on Englishtown or Giant Stadium. Watching an autocross is as much fun as watching grass grow (just came in from cutting mine ) Consider entering, even if you don't plan to push it hard enough to be competitive, you would learn more than you would on the sidelines.

JGK, get yourself onto Adrial's list if your going to Englishtown, it's the mailing list for future get togethers.

Cool

Hi

I'm from that North-Central area too! My car's definately not yet up to an auto-x...and I'll be in Hershey shopping for parts anyway...but I'd love to be kept informed of the gatherings so that when the car's ready I can join in!

regards,

Joe

Membership is not required to run, but I don't know if being under 18 is a problem or not. Scott Studer is the NNJR autocross chairman, and he should be able to give you an answer. His e-mail address is Studer911@aol.com , and the NNJR site sats to contact him with any questions.
Joe, What is autocross ready? Stock classes don't allow much mods, and if you pass NJ state inspection, you should be able to pass tech inspection. Maybe we'll see you May 5?

Dave

The car sat for 3 years before I got it...it's been to the mechanic for timing belt, waterpump etc and runs well...has many dings and dents so it's not exactly a 'looker' at the moment...but I have not had the time to check things out well enough that I'd feel comfortable doing anything that remotely pushes the car....also one of the reasons I am not taking it to Hershey! ( the other is that if I had a problem I'd NEVER hear the end of it from my navigator (wife) )

I'd love to participate...just need a little more time to make sure the car is up to it!

regards,

Joe

Joe, Looks don't mean a thing at an autocross, The fastest cars are often the stripped down, beat up, looking ones. Let me know if I can help you along with the reliability part.
For those who haven't figured it out, I have an agenda. I was a bit disapointed last year when I was the only one in S3R class at a couple events, so I figure recruiting my fellow Rennlisters might be the answer. As I have a full season under my belt, I will be running this season in S3V (R=rookie, V=veteran, S3=944na & 924S) class, where there is usually a handful of entries and where I stand NO chance of being competitive. It would still be nice however to see a few more 944s out there. S7 classes (16v/951/968) usually have a decent turnout, but the more front engined cars the better . At some events, the most common water-cooled model was the 996.

I hear ya Joe (to Dave's dismay I'm sure)--my car doesn't feel like "my car" quite yet, so I don't plan on pushing it till I have it serviced fully by someone who knows what they are doing. I think it's way too slow to NOT have something wrong with it.

Till then, I will watch--either at Englishtown, or Giant's Stadium the following weekend.
