Post Saw a White 944 "Carrera" last night...

Is it just me that thinks this, or is there actually no such thing?

Saw a white 944 with the black Carrera badge kind of off center underneath the 944 badge on the back panel.

Kinda like putting a "Type R" sticker on a CRX?

Tried to get the driver's attention (was in the 84) but he didn't seem to want to acknowledge me (he had to have seen me, I was right next to him for better than a block and a half)...

Oh well...

Porsche made a 924 Carrera, kind of a precursor of the 944 with wide fenders and hoped up turbo engine however they were few and far between and I don't remember if it had a Carrera sticker on the back. I'm at work, don't have my Porsche books to check the pictures.
So not impossible, but not likely either.

There is no such thing ... badge engineering by a (badly misinformed) owner.

The 924 Carrera GT had a "Carrera GT" decal where the 944 badge sits on those cars. But here's the trick...there were no white Carrera GTs.

I can't find the picture right now, but I remember seeing a factory white 924 C-GT. Now, it may have been an S, but not sure. Need to find the picture to be sure. It used to be at the Porsche website, but they seem to have forgotten that the ever raced anything other then the 356, 550, 904, and 911.

I have a picture of a beautiful white 924 Carrera GT, but how do I post a picture here?

It definitely was a 944.
I know there was a 924 Carrera Gt, but trust me, if I had seen one of those on the road, my post would have had a significantly different tone...
No, this was a regular old 944 with a Carrera badge stuck to the back.

Plus, and I forgot to mention yesterday, it had 80's style 911 black stoneguards on the sides. Didn't look right at all.
Trust me, they were most definitely not 944 stoneguards....

But hey, at least it was a Porsche, and not a Civic with a Carrera sticker on it...

Some factory 924 Carrera GTR's were white. But only the factory race cars. All the street 924 Carreras were red, black, or silver.

The car looks HOT in silver.

I'll take your word for it, sounds good enough.

But I do know that PorschePHD's wife now drives a custom built (to spec I believe) by PorschePHD, white 924 C-GT.

To view the picture it has to be online. Meaning you have to upload it using the "Upload Photo" link on the top of the Forums frame, and then take the URL that outputs to you and input it where you did with the "IMG" tag.
