I say this about my 944. I guess I have gotten it a little too sideways a few too many times. I came really close a few months ago as I was sliding towards a truck, but the back cought just in time.

Hey Flood -got any pics of your TLR? started to buy one before i picked up my 951. Figured i'd just fix the wrecked 86 n/a before it got too cold to ride. Then the rebuild became necessary and nixed the whole plan indefinately...

I absolutely love the sound of a TLR with Yosh pipes !!! Until recently i always held a little reservation about whether i would rather have the 'faster' gsxr 1000 or R1. Then i rented [B](yes, rented!)[B/] an R1 while in Florida for a long weekend. That settled it and i believe i'm definately a v-twin kinda guy now. Great bike and all (R1), just like the character of the big twin.

I'd love to talk with you about your bike -pm me if youd like You say yours is mod'd -running the power commander and all?

For anyone who's never watched these videos, these guys are rarely wearing full leathers (like the guy pic'd above) and frequetly are doing multi-mile wheelies at speeds WELL OVER 100mph !! I saw some vids on a recently of guys doing stunts and stuff where they crashed or lost control and crashed... gruesome. The kind of stuff that scares you to watch...but you can never turn away once you get started. Crazy

Speaking of crazy bike stunts. Did anyone see "Real TV" yesterday? There is some guy in Paris called "The Dark Prince" who does this insane highway loop around Paris on his bike at night with a video camera mounted to it. He was topping out at 220 K/PH--it was totally sick the way he was flying past cars.

seems like that guy was mentioned on another thread awhile back -i also think it was mentioned that the guy is dead now. Dont know if this is true, but i'm sure it wont be long if its not.

It occurs to me that this person has lost touch with the value of life, particularly his own. How can a person do this continually w/o understanding that chance WILL intervene eventually and to his gravest detriment?

Life is always fatal eventually. This guy views the risks as worth the reward. Everything you do in life has a risk. As for falling onto freeway in jeans: it won't kill him, but he will be VERY unhappy.

If I am correct, and I am sure I am... The Dark Prince is now dead. He died doing the same thing as the video.

Yosh sound OK on a TL, But the M4s sound alot better.

Yes it is ugly. Yes it is extremely fast. Current list of mods (by no means a complete list) High comp pistons, severe headwork (shaved, radious grind on valves, exhaust cleaned up, intake tightened by 30%), cams, Full M4 race system, custom air filter, PC2, kit airbox and ram air tubes, decompression lever and scissor gears removed, and the list goes on.....

And for those who call them 'donercycles' etc... The worst thing about riding (and I am talking normal riders not squids or stunters) is people in cages (cars)

Example: my bike after a meeting with a 19 year old drunk. He hit me while he was doing over 100.

Cars can hurt too! I spent three months in a wheelchair thanks to my 91 5.0 coupe, ok so it wasn't all the cars fault... for clips check www.lasvegasextremes.com
www.starboyz.com
and local TEXAS boys www.sportbikehype.com
play the demo on their site its 10 minutes long and has stuff I'm sure you haven't seen on other sites.
Oh and my '99 R1 (full Yosh, Ohlins dampner, warr., etc.) is for sale to finance my 951's revival.

I ride a 71 Yamaha AT1-C witch is a 2-stroke and never do crazy wheelie or anything. I also have a 71 Honda CL350 witch is pretty fast. I have only done one front wheel wheelie and taht was by acciedent. I don't know why some of these people just go out there with just jeans on and a helmet. At least get a suit that has kevlar in it to maybe reduce the injury.

I had a zx-7 about two years ago - well let me start by saying I have a nice shoei helmet, Vanson jacket, and Teknic gloves, all of which were in the back seat of my girlfriends car when I lost a wheelie in front of her and about ten friends. Totalled the bike (of course) and I went to get scrubbed You never crash unless someone you know is watching - because if your friends aren't around to impress you probably won't do anything foolish . In closing there are two types of riders....those who have been down....and those who are going down....
