with me, i like the softer corners and overall lines on the console, doors, dash, and steering wheels on all the newer cars. it's probably the shape and how everything blends together that i like with with all the new Ferrari's, and the 996 and 997 compared to the 348, 355, or 993.

i love the "smell" of my friend's 3-5-5... makes me sad every time i have to get back in my car.

the 944 turbo on a diet and the 308 would be a great battle. just carbon fiber fenders, hood and rear bumper, if your feally spendy a lexan rear hatch you loose close to two hundred pounds and that could be a huge turning point in the battle. sadily i dont know the 308's statistics so i can't say for sure

I'll have to get a weight on the hood but I was really surprised with how heavy the doors were. From a seat of the pants est. the hood is considerably lighter than just one door.

I've got mine completely stripped to the shell and have scaled a lot of the parts. The major weight savings can come from the doors and rear hatch. I need to weigh the shell but with the hatch and doors off it's really, really light.
