that's a valid point.... and likewise, a lot of people make similar comments when comparing a 993TT interior to the 996 or 7.
with me, i like the softer corners and overall lines on the console, doors, dash, and steering wheels on all the newer cars. it's probably the shape and how everything blends together that i like with with all the new Ferrari's, and the 996 and 997 compared to the 348, 355, or 993.
i love the "smell" of my friend's 3-5-5... makes me sad every time i have to get back in my car.

the 944 turbo on a diet and the 308 would be a great battle. just carbon fiber fenders, hood and rear bumper, if your feally spendy a lexan rear hatch you loose close to two hundred pounds and that could be a huge turning point in the battle. sadily i dont know the 308's statistics so i can't say for sure

I've got mine completely stripped to the shell and have scaled a lot of the parts. The major weight savings can come from the doors and rear hatch. I need to weigh the shell but with the hatch and doors off it's really, really light.

the fiber glass hood wieghs in at 16lbs the stock hood is closer to 85lbs
