LOL I started to type a reasonable answer and then realized too many facts were missing. I will add though, if he uses the OE shift lever and tries to do a threaded Momo type mount, the vibration damage to his hand will render him unable to self pleasure himself for at least a month.

You can cut the original shift lever and weld on a rod with a threaded end to screw the shift **** on to. Then you have to modify the shift boot to fit the new shift lever.

great call.... i was going to mention about the horrible vibration !!

hence, one more reason why i didn't hesitate on using duct tape in my 968 to 997 gear **** upgrade. i thought the duct tape (now an official part of my car) would solve any possible vibration issues that might come up running the harder ****, as opposed to using a harder epoxy.

There's slight vibration but I don't mind it. Its nothing major... It depends on how creature comfortable and quiet you want the inside of the car to be overall.

I believe we would need measurements of the new ****, is it screw on or is there a retension allen screw, if screw on type thread count and thread depth in the **** would help, will you reuse the standard attached boot somehow or it that being replaced also?

And yes a pic is worth a thousand words.

Drill and tap a hole for 3/8 thread then just weld on a section of 3/8 rod to your shift lever and run a 3/8 die on the end. This is essentially what I did and it works well.
