Default Front Lip 968 - I searched

Help a new 968 user out... where can I find a front lip for my M030 968? I have searched but couldn't find a vendor, or possible know the proper search semantics. From what I have gathered, they are hard to find.

i like the idea of a fairly stiff fiberglass lip since there is already plenty of "give" in the rest of the bumper.

there are a few other vendors and their front lips can get pricey.

item # 372 -- 968 SPLITTER, kevalar Fits under bumper... $195.95

you can also post on the 968 forum.

The front "lip" is called the splitter, the rear is called a spoiler. This is the best place to find info regarding your car. All of these guys who post here are very knowledgeable.

Cheers,
Joel

If memory serves, the gt racing is one of, or the most, affordable splitter around. Used ones are nearly impossible to find, and when you do, it could either be something cheaper like gt racing or something more expensive like a real Porsche one. I think Raj (user 968turboS) might have a used one for sale.

www.deutschnine.com has a lot of awesome stuff for 968s but they don't have a splitter listed yet... I would email them, I bet they have one almost ready.

Is the GT Racing one quality and of correct appearance? It is a good price.

Here is the OEM one at Carnewal. Made from polyurethane which is a big plus.

I don't know anything about the gt racing one except that it's popular because of the price, and that if I had to buy one I'd probably go for that.

AIR(american international racing) has fiberglass and carbon fiber front splitters.

There are 3 diff. OEM Front splitters for the 968. Most common is the Turbo S splitter.

Fox944 - what are the differences between the 3 OEM front splitters ? Do you know the part numbers ?

I need one too but was looking for a flexible polyurethane either OEM or aftermarket.

Steve G,

The Turbo S splitter is the most common. The other splitters are harder to get. There is the Techart Splitter, which was sold through Porsche and carried a Porsche part number ( i can dig it up if you'd like).

Here is a picture.

Lastly, there was the Turbo RS splitter which is almost identical to the Turbo S splitter. The big diff being the fact that there is a kevlar belly pan attached to the Turbo RS unit. I found one of these for sale a while ago, but someone beat me to the punch and picked it up before i could.

I got mine from AIR (american intl racing) for $200. It's the fiberglass one. This one is actually meant to be used with the widebody kit, so the edges near the front wheels stick out a bit, but it still looks cool. BTW those are 17x9 275s up front!
