Default Flushing coolant soon, is it worth switching to G12?

So i did the TB/WP in my girlfriends passat recently and it used G12, read about it and it seems cool. Is there any real advantage to this stuff? did our cars come with a variant of it originally? My car currently has prestone in it, but i had an oil cooler blow out a while back so it does need to be flushed again.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Any of you running it?

I think GM Orange is a good choice for a 944, anything designed for aluminum is probably good.

Why not just use the regular Porsche Pink coolant? Works as designed, and you don't have to worry about it eating anything important.
If you change to anything else, flush really well, as some coolant, like the new Audi coolant doesn't mix well with others.

Ditto. Pentosin FTW.

I'm using GL12. No complaints. Good on Al and I think it has a fluorescent dye to trace leaks too.

The porsche coolant is the same as Audis/VW, they are both OAT based fluids and are compatible. The current stuff g12+ (purple) is compatible too. The big diff is the price.

I'm going for it, picked up some pentosin and its flushing time!

Blue stuff for me (in the white car, not the red car ;-).

VW Pentosin G001100, 50/50 with distilled water. Couldn't find it last time so I used the replacement:
VW ZVW-237-10.

Can also get it at Audi.

Is G12 a refinement of G05? Sounds like it (OAT). I've been using Prestone G05 with no issues in all aluminum or hybrid (iron/alum) engines, only a buck more than ethylene glycol or DexCool.

I don't remember who, but over the years I have heard from more than one person to stay away from orange coolant in the 944.

Actually if I remember those G11 & G12 VW coolants have been superseeded now by the G12+ which is supposed to work for all the cars.
