Default Hi I'm new.

Hi I just bought a 86 944. I have a few problems with it and was wondering if I can get any help on what to do about them. First my speedo and odometer don't work. I have a spare cluster and was wondering if I just have to swap them or if there's more to it? Second the hatch wont open I can hear the lock release but when I pull up on it only the drivers side lifts up and the passenger is stuck down what could this be? and lastly the passenger side window was working fine on the drive home then when I rolled it down I couldn't get it to roll back up for a few Min's then it worked with the stitch on the passenger door but now it wont go up or down at all. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the addiction! and welcome to Rennlist. It's great place with alot of helpful guys, and tones of information.

Regarding your problems, if you have a spare cluster then it wouldn't hurt to give it a try, it's not difficult to swap out, and it's possible that it's just the cluster.

I can't help you out with your hatch, but mine is a bit of a pain sometimes. I have to give it a good pull, I don't know how hard you have tried, but I am pretty sure sometimes they can be a bitch.

For your window's , it sounds like a faulty switch(s). If I am not mistaken, they are all wired through the drivers side window switch, so if this one isn't working then none will. Also I am not sure if the 86 is like my 89 S2, but there is a harness for each door up under the dash. There is one on each side, it's possible that one came lose. The one on my drivers side came loose and neither side worked.

Also, let see some PICTURES!! Pictures are mandatory.. LOL

Welcome!

Pop out the window switch according to the clarks procedure. Take it apart on a towel so you don't lose any pieces and clean the contacts.

Sounds like hatch pins need adjustment...again you can us clarks.

Dash can be swapped...some folks say you should take the wheel off....did mine with the wheel on and it was easy. Just beware he brittle plastics!!!!

Yes they are missing a bolt I was told. Anyone know where to buy the rubber bumpers for the front and rear?
