When you consider all the time and effort to part a car, then throw in your transportation cost, then consider how much time it takes to sell stuff, I really think $4500 was a very fair offer. If I needed an engine or tranny right now I would go $5000, but if you do not want to wait for that right guy to come along $4500 is a good price for a quick sale.

I have a friend who owns a body shop. Based on the 968 prices I've seen, I'd be better off buying a non-project than paying retail to have this one fixed.

That will be a great project to follow if you decide to get her back on the road.

Well, after an 11 hour drive, the car is now in my garage. Unfortunately, the car is not a restoration candidate. It needs too much work. In addition to the accident damage, it looks like it has spent considerable time sitting out in the sun. I'm going to keep the mirrors, but everything else from the car will be for sale.

I'm going to do a compression test and video the engine running this week. I'll probably start the disassembly next week, beginning with the interior. I'll start a new thread with pictures and prices once I start pulling parts.

You've got dibs on these parts. Let me know when you'll be back in town.

How is the rear hatch? I would be very interested in the rear hatch. Where are you located? I will also be interested in many interior parts. Keep me posted please.
