first generation rx7 borrowed from the 924 in the front and sides and maserati rear.

second generation borrowed or more politely stole from the 944 cuz it came out before the 951. check out the specs in an old copy of road n track.

they took the 944 and made it reliable and in many ways better!

The rx7/944 thing is pretty blatent. I always wondered what would have happened if porsche came out with a "3rd gen" 944 and made it a radical departure like the 3rd gen rx7 was from the 2nd. The 968 really isn't all that radical, as far as styling goes. Not like that last rx7, vs. the second gen.

3rd gen rx7 has to be one of my favorite looking cars ever. They're gorgeous, and have styling bits that have been copied many times over.

I think the C5 vettes look a little bit TOO much like the third gen rx7's.

Red face

Couldn't agree more with Danno and Luke about the C5, I had a 240SX behind me the other day. Talk about 951 rip off. I can recall the commercial for those. It started with a shadowy view from the front and the first time a saw it I thought: Porsche 944.

Not that I really care, but I just thought I'd post these of the Ford Windstar. The pictures don't really show it that well, but the fenders are pretty similar.

The best one...

...Now, back to the regular thread.

Is my S2 supposed to have 4 doors? I saw an Aurora today and it had four doors. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" /> I bet the author was wishing he was driving a 944 when he was testing the Aurora.
