Talking Big Porsche event happening soon in Dayton, Ohio.....

Ok, so I've probably mentioned this a few times here on the BBS, but I wanted to remind everyone about the upcoming Tajmagaraj Kruezers event on 5/31 and 6/1.

Here is the link:

<a href="http://www.tajmagaraj.com/events/kreuzers_2003/" target="_blank">http://www.tajmagaraj.com/events/kreuzers_2003/</a>

Last year was a blast, although watercoolers were a bit low in attendance. I'd like to see that change for this year.

Saturday is an auto-X at DESC in Kettering (although it's for PCA members only and I think registration for competitors is already full, I got mine in just in time I think). Bu you can come watch!

Sunday is a driving cruise, followed by a somewhat laid back concourse event in Carrillon Park near downtown Dayton. There will be a 959 along with some rare RS models, a 944 Cup car (all of these belong to the organizer), and plenty of awesome other Porsche cars. Oh, and a 356 limo will be there, too.

Some pics from last year:

Pete's 930 that dottted the front of my car with gravel at our get-together a few weeks back:

Hope to see all of the guys in our area there!

Julie and I are hoping to make it as a spectator. Nothing to show, really. But I'll bring my video camera to the autoX. Now if I can just figure out how to download the videos to my computer...

As far as just coming to look at the cars on display, would that be the June 1 day? Never been to one of these, and mine isn't worth showing either. But as a 30 year fan of Porsches (I'm only 39!), I'd love to go, and Dayton is about an hour away.

Does it cost to check out the show?

Ok, I just registered for the driving tour and the car show. Do you need to be a PCA member to be a spectator at the auto-x?

I can't really believe that you would have to be a member to watch. There would be no way to enforce that rule. DESC is no longer a government installation so there should be no security issues. I'll email the PCA chair and get an answer for you.

Hopefully they will have extra helmets there so you can ride along in the car with me for a run or two..
