Post OT: sign of a good wife....excerpt from e-mail

Thought I would share.....I found this nugget at the end of an e-mail drafted by my wife to a friend of hers which ultimately came back to me..... I wish to all of you singles looking for your mate as much fortune........

EXCERPT: "Daniel and I actually went to the Shannandoah (sp?) for a drive to enjoy the
foliage. It was so pretty, and Daniel enjoyed working his Porsche... I got
a kick out of seeing him enjoy his car so much! For me, driving is just
something that I do, but he gets so much pleasure, especially turning and
cornering the twisty roads. Other than the occasional closing my eyes and
yelling at Daniel to drive carefully, it was a wonderful outing."

Hey I must be lucky too...

My wife says the same knids of things, loves football and says "I don't care what you spend on the Porsche, just don't show me the reciepts and make sure all the bills get paid!".

I found a keeper!

Although not a real quote from any e-mail, here is what my girlfriend would say in decribing our Porsche outings......

"I NEED A HANDLEBAR!!! Slow the **** down!! Why can't you go around a corner like a normal person? Leave the poor Ricers alone. Stop that shifting that makes me bounce. Thank God we're home!!!".

...but as soon as I say, "Wanna go for a drive to the store...?" - she is waiting in the passenger seat before I can even blink.

I shouldn't make it look like she isn't enjoying the car because she often will say, "This car makes me want to *** - I don't know what it is, but it just does!!". Higher praise than that, I don't think we will ever find.

Just imagine the new Porsche slogan...

"PORSCHE - Makes Females Want To Orgasm"

So does mine. She will only drive a manual transmission. She drives the 968 daily and is looking at a C4 and a Maserati this weekend to add to the stable.

dammit, i must be dating/messing around with/giving rides to the wrong women. in my case it's more like:

PORSCHE - Makes Females Want to Vomit

how can it be that those same lateral g forces that bring an indeliable smile to my face bring a shade of green to hers...

someday i will find a woman who knows how to drive (and appreciates good driving). and then i will be happy.

Or vice versa. Years ago, I was a typical teenaged Ferrari nut when I met a girl who would permanently change my mind. She had grown up in the back seat of her father's 911S in the '70s and I'll never forget one night in 1986 when we had been dating for a few months and walking down a street I stopped dead in my tracks in front of the local Ferrari dealer to gawk at a Testarossa.

She liked it, no doubt, but as we walked away it just so happened that we came across a steel blue 911SC. She pointed at it and explained that she liked the Ferrari but preferred the Porsche for a number of reasons which I eventually have come to understand.

I was at an age when there were so many distractions that it was hard to keep the same girlfriend for very long. We broke up and went on with our lives but always remained friends.

When I bought my first Porsche in 1994, a '83 944 I remembered her although I was an ocean away. When I bought a '90 S2 cab in 1999 I thought of her again, and when I bought a 951S cabrio two years ago I called her up to tell her that this Porsche addiction was all her fault.

She now works in art restoration and races karts as a hobby. If there's ever been a woman I regret breaking up with it's the one who turned me on to Porsches, so maybe my taste in cars is akin to my taste in women.

Luis, that is a beautiful story... that is pretty rare to meet a girl/woman like that. If I ever have a daughter, I intend to get her into cars in the back of my TurboS. Believe it or not, that is the reason I bought the 951, performance and rear seats!

2+2, that's another thing that got me more excited about the 951S than any Boxster: 2+2 seating.

If you've seen the cover of the October issue of Pano, the female copilot has her handbag beside her legs in the footwell -no convenient rear seats for that, eh...

Your wife's account of the Shenandoah drive brought back memories of a road trip I took along the Blue Ridge Parkway this summer. This may look familiar:
