Post Seattle Dyno Day [and BEER Night] - May 10th

GENERAL:

 • Location: Carburetor and Fuel Injection Connection (aka CarbConn, ECS Dyno), Kirkland, WA

 • Directions: http://www.carbconn.com

 • Date: 10 May, 03

 • Time: 10 am - 4 pm (arrive at 9:30 am)

 • Cost: $65 per car (3-4 runs, as available), $10 Air/Fuel hookup

DETAILS:
 • Need RSVP of at least 5 cars to get discount (actually, 4 + me). Regular prices are $95 per car, $50 for air/fuel. Alex says we can run 15-18 cars!

 • Need to start as early as possible to allow for max runs, max participation, and even slight tuning.

 • This is considered a "club event" which will probably not allow for much tuning outside of quick plug-n-play changes (for instance: I'll be testing chips)

 • No additional tie-downs are needed. They surely appreciate having Dyno specific attaching points, but can and have done all Porsches without them. If available, bring your front tow-eye. (I may have a spare to loan)

 • Turbos will probably not be able to do much past 3 runs due to heat soak. There may not be enough time in-between runs to allow proper cooling of intercooler. They do have the "wind tunnel" fan to help out though.

 • The "Dyno": Dynamometer, dynojet model 248C, 48" drum. You will receive a printout of your runs (HP, TQ, A/F, etc).

 • The "Dyno Guy": Alex; Very knowledgeable, very nice, very interested in a '44 day (currently building his own 89 951 for Club Race, with a Wolf EMS - and also building a 968 bodied 944 Turbo full GT race car estimated to hit the 600HP mark)

 • This event is for baseline testing of cars. They do offer a full test-n-tune opportunity by appointment.

Please RSVP if you know you'll be able to attend. Any other questions, please Email me. Onlookers VERY welcome, looks to be a fun day. I'll have the morning treats to sweeten the pot.
Last years event went very well - no blown engines! We ran 10 or 11 cars, but had ~15 in attendance.
B E E R - We'll certainly need a few brews to wash down the fumes. The Redhook Brewery is just a few miles from the Dyno place, so I figure we can gather there once the runs are complete.

When: Saturday, May 10th (5pm'ish)
Where: Redhook Brewery, Woodinville, WA
Directions: http://www.redhook.com/brewpubs/woodinville/index.html

This is very informal, so no rsvp's or anything... just letting you know at least I will be there with my closest friend (me).

Here's my Graemlin enhanced perception of the Dyno day:

Hope to meet you there!

EDIT: The preliminary list I have is:

Ok guys! For those who are coming in the Vancouver area this is the plan.

We are going to meet at my house since I live like 5minutes from the border. We should prolly be at my house around 5am, to be on the safe side. Once we get to the border Rich Sandor was nice enough to volunteer to lead us to Skips.
I recall that we are going to meet up with people in Bellingham, please add yourself to the list and a place we can meet you that is easy for us. THANKS ALL IN ADVANCE.

Skip where you going to meet as at a 3 quaters of the way marker? I can't recall.

Here are the DIRECTIONS to my place.

1. Take the #1 highway west/east bound
((depends where you are coming from).
>
> 2. Take the 176th exit
>
> 3. Turn right on 96th at the set of lights,
there will be a quiki mart to the left
of you.
>
> 4. Go straight down the hill till you see
the Esso station on your
> right, make a left at those lights on
to 168th.
>
> 5. Go straight past the park on your right,
through the ligts with a
> school on your left, up the hill and
turn right on 83rd st.
>
> 6. Drive to the end of my street, your
right you will see my car. Address is
16665 83rd ave.

Disregard previous CONSTRUCTION NOTICE for Bellingham I-5 - an update to their plan has no closures until 17 May.

----------------------------

Also, I'm south of B'ham, so I can meet up with y'all at the southbound Smokey Point rest area - mile marker 207 (between Mt Vernon and Marysville). I figure you should be there between 0700 and 0730. 0730 departure from Smokey Point allows an easy 0900-0930 arrival at CarbConn.

For Bellingham, I could meet you guys at the Bellis Fair mall, or near the ramps for Old Fairhaven Parkway.

P.S. Sorry for the long absence. I destroyed my CRX 2 weeks ago. Was pretty banged up and have been trying to get all the insurance (health and auto) straightend out.

Chris, sorry to hear of your incident. All body parts still accounted for? Hope you're okay!

Does this mean you will be making the dyno-day? And, will you be dynoing? (to take low honors away from me )

Please email me when you get a chance.

Guys, I'm having difficulty getting Friday night off. (ie, i might have to work friday from 11pm to saturday 7am.) this would seriously screw my plans to attend. I'm going to try to get my buddy to take my shift, but he's a lazy *** and i'm not sure he'll take it.

I put in my request TWO MONTHS AGO. I'm seriously bummed about it.

I'll need a couple of days to straighten this out. I might have to pay Josh to take my shift! (Where's that pissed off gremlin?)

I hope you can make it! Cause I have NO clue how to get where we are going. I can not read a map to save my life. I am afraid I will have to abandon ship as well if you do not make it.

I'll swing by his place and lead him by the hand. I learned how to read a map once upon a time. But we need Rich to come too, just 'cause.
