Last year if you attended the BMW Ultimate Driving Experience you could get all the films on a single DVD.

Yepper!!

Houston was the last stop last year and I was in the last group. The nice young lady at the tent told me to take what I want since they were wrapping up. I took a couple of extras for my friends (long gone).

I have this DVD - original, from BMW - how can I *rip* it to make copies? Do I need a DVD writer, or can I compress using *x* to simply CDR it?

You'll need a DVD player (in the computer) - or a way to capture video (and then run the an external DVD player through that capture device).

Then you can use any of your choice of files to burn, but the perfered way to go (from what I hear) is with <a href="http://flaskmpeg.sourceforge.net/index.php?page=down" target="_blank">Flask</a>. I've never actually ripped a DVD so I'm not sure how i works, but it should be easy enough to figgure out.

Here you go Skip: <a href="http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/flaskmpeg.htmpeg</a>

With the latest <a href="http://www.divx.com" target="_blank">DiVX 5.02 CODEC</a>, you can squeeze a full-length DVD movie onto a 700mb CD with no visually-detectable loss in quality. There's even a Playstation-2 mod in the works to play DiVX-encoded CDs.

In lieu of statements made by John D regarding the distribution of stuff that does not belong to me/you/us, I'll decline - I truly am interested in the "ability" to do such a thing, not the distribution. I hope you understand.

As an aside, Adobe now markets a PDF product that handles scanning and digitally cataloging a large print document - makes outlining and searching a cinch - I can't imagine what "we" could use that for - anyone?
