I don't think anyone is going to steal Rage2's lunch money with a stock 2.5

True, but does the 2.8 or 3.0 have more potential than the 2.5?

Nothing beats pubic inches...

(We've had pubic roads on the forum.. So i figured pubic inches would be nice as well!)

Sure. John Milledge is up to +/- 540 hp. with his 3.0's. Cost you about $30,000, but they last more than 1 race.

My weak mind thinks that Chris Cervelli of Technodyne has the edge in 2.5s 420+,,for above liters,,,I'm sure Tim @ Speedforce has had a hand in some serious hp but John Milledge builds 500+hp from 3.1s,,,and Scott Gomes, I heard did something incredible with the "Doom Car"? I won't even type what rwhp I heard!

Rage2 says he has 450 at the wheels. Where does the 450 pound gorilla sit?

It's a crazy car, I have the Excellence article about it. Doom I used a 911 motor and was stolen [it's a big mystery] but Doom II used a 968 motor bored from 4.09" to 4.125" which would result in...uhh, 3 liters. It revs to 8500 RPM [Norwood says the valve train can handle 12k] producing 710 RWHP and 699 RWTQ...they actually reduced the intake and exhaust valve lift from stock, restricted the exhaust, and made those numbers at something like 20psi. At higher boost it makes over 900 horsepower and the best part is it's got the power/weight ratio of a Cart platform. I love that car.

Word is....the factory 944 GTR's,using mechanical Kugelficsher (spelling?) injection and somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 psi boost were making 650 hp to the crank...reliably.

so it seems like it always comes down to money=horsepower, the more money one spends, the more horsepower one can create.

hmm... those numbers put us squarely in the 911 camp.

and on another note.. what are the advantages/disadvantages of mechanical vs electronic fuel injection? reliability?

the reason i ask is because i was doing some research on gm v8 turbo diesel engies on another board and they were talking about preferring only mechanical injection over electronic.. any reason?

<<<Totally off topic>>>
i had to include this comment about some dude who painted some stuff on his "rig" and the other dude was capping on him... 100% Red Neck !! so hilarious!!!! Hehe! this proves that ricers exist in all forms..

"Big frickin deal. Who can't grab a can of paint and put "40,000 GVW" on their door? What's the big deal here? Just because he paint's "40,000 GVW" on his door, does that mean it's what he actually carries? Of course not. Maybe he's just an old junkman with very little self-esteem and he feels the need to impress others the only way he knows how: By painting "40,000 GVW" on his door and hooking an illegal load to his truck and driving 20MPH to a scale house. Gee, now that's a tough guy. I suppose he's a real ***-kicker, too?
I bet he can drink a case of beer and still drive that truck, right? Prolly has a lot of hot poon-tang chasing after him too, right? Big deal, who cares? Any moron can paint something or put some *** decal on on their truck."
