where is this plug located
Can anyone tell me where the plug labelled wire connector DME (in the center of the following pic) is physically located. My Tacho and Boost gauge are both dead and this plug is the common denominator. I have been searching around in the passenger and driver footwell area's but cant seem to find it there.

Both the DME and KLR plugs and brains are in the passenger footwell; pull back the carpet, remove the plywood, then you will see a black metal brace. It has 4 screws that hold it in, remove then pull, rotate 180° as you pull it out. Just curious have you pulled your cluster out and just unplugged and plugged everything back in? There are also several grounds under the dash,,look for any corrosion there and also when you get the DME and KLR out, make sure there isn't a water trail down there from your battery tray.

IIRC.. that is the jumpered plug (like the one you busted in the engine bay). Perhaps you have some wires crossed when you put it back in? (the one in the engine bay).
I know that test plug has an output for a TACH signal.

Ski,
Thanks but this is not the main KLR or DME connectors, this is only an 8 pin plug. Looking at the wiring diagreams it seems that the plug I am looking for connects some DME outputs to the instrument cluster (ie Tach and Boost) but I dont know where the plug is located.

I take that back. Just ran to the garage. There is a flat 8 pin plug with tabs on the DME harness. It connects to a male ended 8 pin plug that comes off the harness behind the radio.

Hey Perry,
looks like you replied whilst I was typing. You have a good memory (regarding the plug that broke) but it is not that one - I know because I had to reconstruct that one pin by pin - the broken one was the one that connects to the fuse box adjacent to the hood light switch.

Perry,
This is getting confusing you typed a second reply while I was typing a response to your first reply.
OK... so a plug behind the radio ... that sounds like it would be in the right vicinity i'll check that out in the morning. Thanks.

Where is the rest of that manual??? My Oil level indicator light is on and I have just replaced the sensor in the pan (light on before and after). I started the car and even grounded the sensor wire and the light still stayed on. It appears I have a short somewhere. If I connect my ohm meter to the sensor wire (@ the pan) and the other end to pin eight of the DME connector I should show a closed curcuit, right? I have spent a few days try to trace where that %^@$#%^ wire goes. Thanks for the image.
