I went to the last one in Indy and the inaugural one in Effingham. Both were cool, but quite different. There was more of a swapmeet atmosphere at the last one in Indy and the one in Effingham had more of a "fest" feel to it.

Tweeks.com owner, Mike Yager, showed us some great Illinois hospitality. It was my first long outing in the S2 cabrio from Louisville, KY and I took my then girlfriend along. We met up with Brian Buxton from Evansville, IN who drove a gorgeous black 964 he had just bought in Detroit with something like 30K miles on it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> .

The Effingham facility is really nice and I loved Mr. Yager's little car museum. It's definitely worth seeing. As you probably know, he's mostly into 'Vettes, but from what I experienced and what I've heard since then, he puts on quite a shindig for the Porsche crowd year after year.

I would highly recommend the Tweeks fest in Effingham to anyone within reasonable driving distance.

We should set up a Rennlist meeting area. I'll bring beer.

i make the treck from columbus ohio every year.. great event. the heat was a pain in the *** in the past as mentioned.. but looks like it'll be better for the simple fact its now in june.

man there are alot of good events in june in the midwest, for p cars. ill be going to most of them, if not all of them

may 31, and june 1
-the Taj Magaraj "kreuze in", concourse, driving tour, auto-x, etc in Dayton, Ohio. all kinds of cars and marques will be represented (lots of porsches there though.. most likely the founder of the event will have his 550, and 959 there, and pleanty of his other goodies).

<a href="http://www.tajmagaraj.com/events/kreuzers_2003/" target="_blank">http://www.tajmagaraj.com/events/kreuzers_2003/</a>

june 7-8
- tweeks annual porsche fun fest . its a great show and swap meet, and driving tour in Effingam, Illinois.

<a href="http://www.tweeks.com/funfest03.html" target="_blank">http://www.tweeks.com/funfest03.html</a>

June 14th
- Stoddard Imported Cars inc annual porsche fest and swap meet. (also tech session, concourse, and more! plus some stuff for kids and wives it looks like too.) in Willoughby, Ohio (cleveland area)

<a href="http://www.stoddard.com/fest.html" target="_blank">http://www.stoddard.com/fest.html</a>

june 20-22
-sprint vintage grand prix (vintage racing!!!) & concours d’elegance. vendors selling stuff for all kinds of cars too. they will have all marquis, from all different eras there, being shown and raced (at least when i was there, they even had the porsche groupe c rothmans endurance cars tearing it up!!!). and all of this at one of the greatest tracks, Mid-ohio! this is a great one to see. every car entered in the concourse gets a parade lap around the track. (anyone can pretty much get in the concourse in their p car, no matter what shape its in, so we could all get a lap!)

<a href="http://www.midohio.com/sportscarcou...gegrandprix.asp" target="_blank">http://www.midohio.com/sportscarcou...gegrandprix.asp</a>

also at mid ohio, the week after the vintage gp, is the mid ohio road racing classic. (june 27-29) the Grand American Road Racing Association/Rolex Sports Car Series comes in!!!
-"With a glimpse back at Mid-Ohio's endurance racing history, the Rolex Sports Car Series race will take place Saturday evening with a start time of 6:00 p.m. The three-hour race will conclude as the sun sets over the rolling Mid-Ohio hills."
mid ohio has a ticket package for the grand am series and the vintage races, for $45 for both weekends, if anyone would wanna see both.
