I'm thinking about going to Tweeks-Fest this year, June 7-8. Has any Rennlisters gone to this in the past? What's it like? It sounds pretty cool from the flyer they sent me in the mail. Oh, and you also get a free T-Shirt :-)

It's in central Illinois. Not sure that I would want to stay over night on Saturday though, but still undecided!

I have wanted to go the past two years but never made it. I signed up today in advance and I am probably staying both days. Is anyone else going?

I am seriously considering on attending, especially since I had to cancel my Hershey trip this year a week before going due to a conflicting spur of the moment job-related task. I definitely need my P-car fix, I have been having withdrawls over the winter. Although, I did not miss the idea of getting soaked this year...last year was good, but it did sprinkle a bit and people started leaving. The little dribble only lasted 15 minutes!

I am also interested on comments about Tweeks Fest.

I was at the innagural one, at least 4 years ago.. Great facility. Unfortunately I moved 300 miles in the wrong direction so I haven't been back. I'd go for sure if it wasn't 7 hrs away..

I'm going with at least a half dozen other P-cars from KC. I went last year and it was a blast. You won't regret it.

I'm planning to go. I missed it last year because of other priorities, and I missed Hershey this year with a last minute problem (literally on Wednesday). Looking forward to seeing some Rennlisters there.

Wasn't it in July last year? I wasn't anle to go last year b/c I was in FL. I'd like to go this year, but I need to check the schedule. It's only about 3 hours south of me. Can somebody post more info about it?

It was in July last year. I remember reading about it a couple of years ago when they had a 908 (I think) do a high-speed run against an older race-prepared Corvette (Tweeks is owned by Mid-America Corvette or something). It sounded pretty cool.

June 7-8 this year- Correct Michelle- It was in July but it was so hot (105 degrees) They chose to move it to June for 2003.
It was my first outing to TweeksFest last year and it was a great time, albeit VERY hot. I would recommend attending. A lot of 356 and 911's for the swap meet section, minimal water-cooled stuff but that may change due to the huge turnout of watercoolers that showed up last year. I got 20% off my entire purchase from TWEEKS there last year. (BIG BONUS!!) A good time to stock up on filters and misc stuff, and get new parts you may need.
