I would like to replace the o-rings that go on the turbo inlet and throttle body inlet tubes for my '86 951. If you have seen these parts up close, you will recall that they have a groove in the metal to accept an o-ring/seal.
I checked through PET without success in locating these parts. Can you guys help me?
The throttle body groove appears to be concave (i.e. have a rounded surface). The turbo inlet groove appears to be squared off (i.e. sides are perpendicular to the bottom) which makes me think that this will be more difficult to find.

squared off and concave are the same, concave being a tighter seal though. that is the difference. more sealing surface. There are what is called quad orings, basically 4 tiny orings that hit all 4 corners of the sealing surfaces. those would be strictly a squared off cut. Most important is the color of the original rings. and the durometer. 70=soft 80=stiff 90=hard. black is a hardware store purchase. (most likley 70 though) brown good for high temps and corrosive substances. a lot of automotive stores have a selction of Orings. they are measured by the inner diameter and the thickness of the oring.. 1-xxx being the thinest, 3-xxx the thickest. Hope some of this helps..

i replaced both o-rings on my car this past winter - for the turbo, i did the o-ring for the turbo's inlet OIL line, if that's the one you're asking about. i didn't have the PET numbers, so i just called the p-car specialist that i bring my car to and they ordered it for me. i *think* they get these parts from the porsche headquarters down in Georgia, or whatever is down there. it's genuine porsche parts and it even comes in the porsche bag
the phone number for my mechanic is: 516-775-8655. ask for Peter, as he was the guy who helped me. i'm sure they can mail it to you for cheap, as the parts weigh close to nothing.

I realized that I should have been more specific in my original post...heard that before???
For the throttle body, it's pretty clear that I was referring to the ~air~ intake that connects to the intercooler tube.
For the turbo, I just realized that there are 3 separate "fluids" that flow through the unit: water, oil, air. I was referring to the o-ring for the ~air~inlet that connects to the "J-tube" from the air cleaner box.
Any more thoughts out there??

OK, maybe a picture will help:

This is the "squared off" o-ring that billybones mentioned above.
Any ideas on a PET part number or where I can find an equivalent piece?

tt, far as I know no o ring goes there, that is the groove where the clamp Luke mentioned tightens the J boot to make a good seal..

OK, sorry for the false alarm guys.
I took a closer look at the J-tube and intercooler-to-throttle body hose. Both have molded ridges in them that effectively act as 0-rings when installed on the metal mating surfaces. That's why I couldn't find a separate part number...there isn't one.
Next step: order replacement J-tube and IC to throttle body rubber hose!

I just spent the last day or so measuring seals etc I made a list of them here Seal list
This list includes the seals that relate to oil, coolant and throttle etc.
