Default Anybody got good used Boge shocks?

Anybody got a full set of good used Boge shocks for an early NA for sale? Mine seem to be wearing out and I can't quite swing the cost of a new set at this moment in time.

I have a pair that just came out of some 86 strut housings. They seem to work pretty good even though most of the gas has gone out of them. $20 shipped and they're yours.

The gas is only there to keep the piston rod pushed out when not installed and to reduce foaming of the fluid under heavy use. It has nothing to do with the shock's ability to "absorb shocks" to the suspension. Now if I told you most of the fluid had come out then that would be a different story all together.

I can sell you new BOGE inserts for $79 each plus shipping if you like.

I hadn't seen those on Pelican before.

However, I did see those the other day installed on an NA, and it left way too much of the bolt exposed (the shock end was much narrower than stock), so no thank you.

Let me check my garage. I have shocks/struts from an 83 and and 84 sitting out there.

I would install KYB's 10 times over a set of used shocks. I had great luck with them on my 83 and on Serge's car. IMO, they are better than new Boges right out of the box. You can find them for $35/each. After all the work of doing struts why would anyone want used shocks? At least it's a early car and you can do inserts without removing the strut, using a spring compressor, or realigning the front end.

I have a pair of New Koni Red (standard) strut inserts that I got many years ago for my 88 924s. The 924S is long gone, but I still have the inserts. I don't have any pictures of them (got to dig them out of the garage) but would be willing to sell for $50 + shipping. Send me a PM if interested.

The only thing was that the shocks were 85.5, so I drilled the steel trailing arms to accept the larger bolt for the aluminum arms.
