Where can I get a roll bar for my 944 track car project?

Having just gone through this, I'll offer where I ended up. I checked out all the usual suspects, and found there aren't too many options. Of note, Autopower is inexpensive, but not the greatest quality... OG Racing is great, but pricey and you still must have it installed. If you can find one, the Matter cages are supposed to be pretty good (designed for 80's Cup cars), but are quite rare.

I gave up on bolt-ins or pre-fabs and went custom... this way I am guaranteed it will pass SCCA tech (the toughest) and I'll get my logbook with no hassles (since the latest rules are used/followed on the spot).

If you're looking for a bolt-in rollbar for DE and Time trial use only, I would look at the Redline Rennsport Rollbar

Good Luck!

Depending on how far you are from the Daytona Beach area, BSI Racing in Ormond Beach set up an ITS 944 and it is VERY NICE and they are great to work with. The web sit is www.bsiracing.com

Thanks for all the replies!

Greg: Thanks for the info on BSI. I'm about 2 hours from Ormand Beach. I'll check them out.

Sloth: Yeah, I know Albert at Broadfoot Racing and I never even thought about checking with him!! I'll see him in a few weeks, so I'll ask him then.

Thanks again everyone!!!!

Eurospeed,

I have the Autopower roll bar in my car, and I do really like the fit of it. There was no difficulty getting it in and it seems well built. I was talking with a guy who build custom cages and he said that it would work well for what I'm doing, but that I should go out to a full cage if I push things much further. He also said the Autopower bar is not the strongest based on conscruction, but again he said it was good for what I do (DE's).

One thing to think about on street driven cars, when you do NOT have your helmet on, bouncing the old noggin off a full cage front or side bar. Ouch

I am going with the Redline Rennsport rollbar.

IMHO that is

I have the Redline Rennsport bar. I can convert the daily driver into DE beast in about 30 minutes, harnesses and all. Happy customer.

Keep the shiny side up (and you won't need the bar),
