danno @ sonoma (sears point)

Bonjour Deni, comment ca-va?
Sears Point was an absolute BLAST!!!
Perfect weather with perfect track conditions.
Trevor was the only one who made it out and he'll tell you his story when he's recovered from Spring Break.
There's another story about this beautifully painted metallic violet 951:
And how it started the day in pristine condition. Then its deteriorated with a kiss into the tire barrier (nothing a hammer couldn't fix before the next run session):
Which then got worse with black flags and allegations of alcoholism. The adventure finally ended with a blown engine from a con-rod penetrating through the block:
Anyway, Trevor's got a good video clip his mom made of us going through turn 7 (can you upload it Trevor?). Also I'll download & upload a short clip of us chasing down a sweet & mean-sounding 928S4. More to follow...

Sounds like you had a fun time =) wish I coulda been there. I really need to go watch and get involved in the autocrosses and driving schools around here.. I really need to learn how to drive better.. only problem is my $$ flow is somewhat limited =p

damn joe, if you can find sears point on mapquest then you can at least watch ! that's what i usually do. i am not even a pca member, nor do i have a car that i could drive on-track (i don't even have a helmet) - however, i *have* been to several pca-ggr autocrosses this year and last to just watch and help out.
i can't drive over to the track (any track) because my car is still "chez bill's" on two jackstands waiting for parts.
cheers

Yeah, I swear after you've come to the track and get a couple of rides with me, you'll get really creative and motivated to make that cash-flow flood happen! I think Trevor's got bitten by the bug; you shoud've seen the glow he had after we went for a drive around the track!
Aside from my visit to Thunderhill during the <a href="http://www.opentrackchallenge.com" target="_blank">Open Track Challenge,</a> I'll be at Laguna Seca for a 3-day event with the <a href="http://www.norcal-saac.org" target="_blank">NorCal Shelby Club</a> & <a href="http://www.greenflagdriving.org" target="_blank">Green Flag Driving</a> over the last weekend in May.
BTW, for those who don't know me, that's not my car in the photos above. I never crash!

You guys need to respect Dan and his car, they're both KILLER fast! Danno is a great driver and I'll admit I never expected the brutal cornering power his beast is capable of. Dan that was awesome thanks so much for the opportunity. I don't have the cable or software to upload the images or video from the camera to my computer, bummer. Hearing your turbo spooling around that corner I was filming from is amazing, I'll have to show you some time! I want to hit the track but there's no telling when the 968 will return. I'm missing my THIRD autoX in a row this sunday...

You guys ought to check out some NASA events. I've run with Green Flag, POC, Shellby Club, BMWCCA, and a few others I cant even remember the name of and I must say NASA is by far the most fun.
FYI- This coming weekend is a race at Buttonwillow for anyone with in driving distance.

"Very interested in the 928S4 that you chased down!"
Ok, got a couple of video clips up:
<a href="http://www.virgeweb.com/danno/Porsche951vsAudiS4.avi" target="_blank">Chasing an Audi-S4</a> (6mb)
<a href="http://www.virgeweb.com/danno/Porsche951vs928s4.avi" target="_blank">Chasing a 928s4</a> (15mb)
<a href="http://www.virgeweb.com/danno/Divx412bundle.exe" target="_blank">DivX 4.12 CODEC</a> (if not installed on your machine)
You can install just the CODEC and remove The Playa player afterwards:<ol type="1">[*]Install just the Playa player, the DivX CODEC, and the StartMenu items.[*]Then say 'yes' when it asks you if you want Divx4 to play all 3.11 content.[*]after it's finished installing, remove the Playa application (Start->Programs->Divx->ThePLaya->Uninstall)[/list=a]
That's it, we're now ready to play some videos. Enjoy...
