Post So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Well guys, I have been a silent, yet steady (my wife would say addicted) reader for a long long time. And today, after almost 10 years of ownership, I traded in my 86 951.

I purchased a 2003 350z, and though it is new, and costs tons more, it still doesn not beat my 951 for acceleration, breaking, or handling. Why would I sell it then, you may ask....well, I will be doing a lot of driving, and I needed something with a warranty. I almost got a boxster, but its not even close the 951, and despite what others say, it IS a chick car....

The 350z was a lot less money than the boxster, but easily outperformed it. I drove the s2000 (no thanks...way 2 peaky, and noisy), the z3 ( has NO game), as well as some others. My first choice is a new M3, but sadly they are out of my price range.

This group is the single most effective, and useful site I have ever used. I wish you guys the best, and will always notice you.

Take it fast, take it hard, and smile....

Congrats on the Z purchase - hopefully your 951 will go to a budding enthusiast who's enthusiasm for these cars becomes an obsession.

"so long and thanks for all the fish"

Great book, douglas adams is one of my favorites...

Good luck with the 350Z (did you get the track package) I've driven a few and enjoyed them, seem like a nice solid car (although I would take the G35 as a daily driver).....

Anyway, all the best, and enjoy the resturant at the end of the universe....

Best... Datsun... Ever.

Good luck with the new car! I'm sure you'll be back soon.

Good words, take care.
You should test drive an m roadster, but if you want a new one with a warranty it'd be too expensive

WTF! Just because you sold the Porsche (Which you should have kept a s a weekend car) you have to leave.

Porsche isn't about ownership. Plenty or Porschless porchiphiles here.

Stick around. Come to get togethers and we'll have you in another inside of 6 months

Don't panic! You could always get another one.
The Datsun is mostly harmless I understand. You'll pretty soon realize that the meaning of life, the universe and everything is owning a p-car.
