Would I regret moving to an early 944?

To the OP, before you decide on the early dash model, take a look at the relay/fuse panel. Then figure out how to get under there to work on it.

Good point Bart. Luckily, I haven't had to do anything other than change a relay and an occasional fuse. The new cars are vastly better in this respect with the top access panel.

NM i take it back, that kinda sucks.

Aside from that, it only required a DME relay change (preventative), and I blew a couple fuses before tracing down an overhead light that was shorting to the body.
Regarding my remarks on heat in winter: yes, I found that you get a small amount of good heat when the fan is on I. Putting the fan on III gets you ambient air, regardless of season. This doesn't happen in later 944s or other cars.

To the OP - Given that you already have a great example of a late 944 why not keep it and save a little cash for an early one. The way the prices are now, you could get a decent example for 3-4k and have your cake and eat it too

I've had both. I just wish I had both at the same time. Both dashes are awesome for different reasons. My early interior was redone in all black wish white faced gauges and it was retro-sexy. Although I prefer the newer interior for practical reasons.
So, late dash for DD, early dash for weekend/fun.
I'd say, keep your car. You'll end up buying an early car and wishing you had a newer one, the same way you have a newer one and want an early one now.
