Belts are done. Whats the ticking noise!

DarylJ is the big winner! Went out and checked last night. Had good pressure so as noisey as it was I just let it run and crossed my fingers. Sure enough at the 10 minute mark I noticed it getting quiter and by 15 minutes the noise was gone! Thanks for ALL the suggestions.

I'm sure you checked, but.....you're SURE you're getting good oil pressure? If you get that thrust washer on backwards (on the crank) you won't be. And that could explain the lifters not filling/ticking at the top of the motor.
