Thumbs up Ignition wires installed!

I recieved my yellow set of ignition wires today from the manufacturer. It took about a week or so for me to recieve it, which pissed me off somewhat. As soon as I got back from my classes, I called a friend who's enrolled in Lincoln Tech, and told him what was going down. I went to his house 10 minutes later, we popped my hood, took out the tools, and went to work. The installation took us about 1h and 30mins to completely finish it, because one of the motors was blocking the access to the ground plug wire. I put in Bosch Plat. 4+'s, with the set of 8mm wires. The car seems to run alot smoother. Also, the job was alot easier than I thought it would be.

Do new, larger wires really make much of a difference? I've thought about getting them, but thought they maybe were more just another mod you can say you've done to your car. I already have an MSD coil and ignition.

Well, it ran perfect as soon as we started the car, the problem is now I have to set the fuel injectors to run to about 1000x rpm's at idle. I only got the wires because of the big hype, and I thought the OEM wires were going to cost me more.

I didnt use the Haynes Manual because it seemed like a to easy of a job. I copied your yellow wires because they stand out compared to blue, black, or red ones.

I normally stay as far away as I possibly can from these AMAF posts, but I just can't resist...

When you adjust the rpm's on the fuel injectors, be sure to divide rpm's by the number of cylinders, or you'll be idling way too high.

Example: 1,000 RPM / 4 cylinders = 250 squirts per minute (use the 250 SPM setting on the injectors).

The formula may be different if you're running twin turbos, but I'm not positive.

Ron, Are you TRYING to screw people up??? A 4-cycle engine only fires every other stroke so the correct setting would be 125 SPM. The only time you would use the 2-cycle setting (250 SPM) is if you are burning alot of oil.

I'm going with the flogging.

AMAF, could you do us a favor and post a pic of your engine. I was thinking about going with the yellow wires, because as we all know: Yellow is a fast color!!!

No serious, post a pic.

So... that's where the extra horse power came from. Damn, I'm glad I opted for the yellow wires too.

Lemme get this straight
If I install yellow wires, ungapped plugs, and maybe for good measure a pinstripe I will kick the butt of all you guys.

Or do i have to do the above, then recalibrate my injectors to 250SPM using a thin oil so it gets into the combustion chamber quicker. If i adjust my injectors should i stick to dyno or could i use sythetic. is a quart every 100 miles good?

Also how much air should I put in the spare to make sure I get optimum off the line performance? I figure this would all work best with the radio cranked to 11 like the amp in spinal tap.

I know where i can get some leaded gas too. that should really add some spark to the fire shouldnt it?

how am i doing so far? am i ready for the highways yet?

Watch out thaddeus im gonna get some friends and catch up to you this weekend, and zman I know where you parked last summer.
