oh that is so sweet! i think i might have to do that. what width tyres (tires) are you running with 8's and 9's? I'm early offset though, what would I need to run them?

i have 16 x 8's with 225's on the back. when I need new tyres I might get 9's and put the 8's on the front.
I just polished mine today which made me think of this thread.

My car is early offset as well (you can't fit these wheels on late offset without them sticking out past the fender lips). I'm running 225's on the front and 245's on the rear. You shouldn't need to do anything to run this set-up on your car, unless you have the factory rear spacer on the rear that some early N/A cars have, you might need to remove that.

I've got 7mm spacers on the front of my car, but that is so that the wheel clears the bleeder valves on the 928S4 calipers.

Will any 930 Fuchs 16 x 9" wheel fit the 1986 951? I'm wondering if the late 930's had ABS issues that affected offset as on our 944 Turbos. By the way; the wheels look great.

Thanks!

There is only one 930 16X9 Fuchs part#. To my knowledge all 930 16X9 Fuchs are the same and will fit all 86 951 cars.

so, if you put a 17m spacer on the rear, and run your 951 8s' you've essentially got 23+17 = 40mm offset. Which is not much less than the "late" car's 52ish offset. What I am not sure of if there is enough room in the rear fenders to run such a large spacer, but it seems like there should be.

What size tires are you currently running? 205/225? If so, you could help fill the fenders by running a 225/245 tire combo.
i think it would be 23-17=6mm offset.

Yes, that's what I thought too although I wasn't really measuring in terms of offset, but rather how much the track would increase. When I measured from the outermost portion of the tire, I calculated that I would clear the wheel well lip by a few millimeters. My main concern with spacers is that the 225 tires might look too narrow when spaced-out like that. Plus as Tifo pointed out, the deep, angled dish of the 930 Fuchs won't be there to pull-off the look. This is an instance where I agree with nearly every opinion I've read in one aspect or the other. Until I'm sure, I'll probably hold-off but continue to obsess over it. Thanks everyone.
