Default What broke???

I was driving today and shifted into 2nd gear at 3500 and heard a loud pop. The car will go into every gear as smooth as butter but when I come off the clutch the car doesnt move as if it in neutral. What broke?

Brand new clutch, only 3,000 on it. Spring center sachs. CVs look good.

Any idea where I can get one? Anyone replaced one before? Is it a pain?

You need to make sure that that is what broke.

with a recent clutch job - take it back to who did the clutch. Maybe the coupler in the TT.
For the halfshaft, when in gear and running, see if one of the axles is turning. Get some help with this from a buddy or bridely assistant.

what does it sound like when its in gear and you left off the clutch? Can you hear a squeal type noise or sounds of anything rotating back there? Mine acted this way when the teeth on the end of the driveshaft worn down but you could hear it spinning back there. Could also be throwback bearing in the transmission i guess but im pretty sure that would make a squeal type noise too, like a spun out noise of metal spinning on metal.

We have a winner, The CV looked good earlier when I peaked under waiting for the tow truck. Its home now and I jacked it up, grabbed the half shaft and it fell right off.

So the rubber boot was your CV joint!?

Luckily, it's not a big or difficult job.

I would rather snap an axle than the trans, clutch, or T.T.
