Default Need photo of a 944 with right (psgr) fender removed

I'm still chasing this freaking battery box leak in my 944. I had my reluctant helper shine the light under the dash and I looked for where it came out. Appears to be OUTSIDE the battery box but under the fender. There are a couple of small holes in the sheet metal I could peer through and see the same shaped metal, but I can't easily get to it.

I suspect that I can remove the fender, damn (yes) this up with something and go back about my life. Before I spend half a day removing who knows what to get to this spot, I wanted to make sure that was the point of entry. Anyone have a photo or could take one?

Thanks!!!

For perspective, I can shine a light in one of these two holes (with the primer rings) and see what I'm trying to get to....I'm hoping it's as simple as removing the fender.

Can you shine the light from the outside to see where it comes thru to the inside. You would have to do it when it is dark at night. Patch it from the inside using a rubber washer and a sheet metal screw.

Cheers,
Larry

Its way up under the dash along the seam. I want to remove the fender (if that's how to get to it) and really seal it up. I don't want to remove the fender if that's not how to get to it.

Thanks Mike.

Its not how I expected.

I'll have to look at this closer this evening. Maybe I can just squirt some sealer in there somehow if I can't get there easily.

Can't get there from here. I pulled off the fender liner and was wasting my time.

I looked a lot closer at it tonight. The area I wanted to get to is in a void that you'd have to cut metal to get at. There are some rubber plugs but I couldn't get close to where I needed to be. I pulled out the rubber plugs and blew some air in there and noticed some bubbles in the battery box (I had stopped up the drain to test it again). It looks as if the seam sealer failed at the corner allowing water to get into this void and sit while it slowly worked into the cabin. I put some silicone on there which will hopefully seal it up. Once it dries I can test it.

I have the TSB for possible water entry points. A few places it lists are: spot weld at door hinge pillar to wheel house, triangle intersection of the windshield frame-water drain tray-wheel house, front sunroof drain tubes can be punctured by the trim panel mounting screws, corner area of water drain tray & front engine wall, central electric board mounting plate, spot weld points for the foot pedal support, spot welds for battery mounting bracket

Tom

Is that TSB something you could email me? I think the "corner area" you cite is what failed on my car.

Let me know and I'll pm you my email.
Tks
Steve
