It could be temp related, but I have to reaffirm the AFM theory too. Mine did exactly as yours did a number of times. I couldn't figure the problem out until I jiggled the AFM connection. Every time I get a stumble it seems to help the problem. I think my problem is pretty well figured out, and it can really happen any time I'm driving. Most of the time I know it's going to give me an issue when it stumbles the idle and doesn't want to run right. I just pull over, pop the hood and do my magic. Fixes it every time.

I've found that faulty ISVs generally manifest themselves when the car is cold.
OTOH, this problem seems to occur after the engine has been running for awhile.
My first inclination is the air flow meter connector not making good enough contact, or having some internal issue. Have you tried just disconnecting it from the harness, squirting some WD-40 in the plug and reconnecting it?
Next, I'd try swapping out the DME for a known good one, to see if the problem repeats itself when the engine is warm.

I agree the ISV affecting the car when cold.
The AFM angle intrigues me. I will hose the connection down with WD.
The problem defintitely is when the engine has been running. I was about 20-25 mins into my drive to work when it stalled. Rolled off throttle, and it stumbled and died before I knew it.
Started right up this morning. Just a little, minor stumble, just a bit of off noise and it ran for 10 mins.

I'd recommend doing a couple of things, knowing your next steps already...
Pull the intake and the ISV. Clean the ISV out and check your ISV hoses.
I'll give you 8 shiny new m8x35's for the intake...
I don't think it is your AFM.

OK....did some poking around, unplugged AFM, reinstalled. Checked plug wires. Nothing major.
Decided to take the car to the store about 10-20 mins away, and it ran like a scalded cat. Smooth idle, and good acceleration from a stop. (Last week it seemed sometimes the car couldn't get out of its own way)....
Not sure what to think now. Will drive it again tomorrow.
