Man, it seems like trying to get order status out of a California 944 shop is about as fun as pulling teeth. This doesn't fly in the 911 world.

Go dave!

However, from what I've seen...orders that are rushed from tuners usually end up delivered with some problems...It doesn't look like this one will be delivered though.

How about a Rebuild Dave's engine meetup?

We're going to have to I guess. I don't think this is the way Ken wanted to take the S3 class title from me.

Dave, dont sell the 944 without a working engine...you'll get dirt for it! You know that...

Lets rebuild it!

Maybe talk to Deman if you dont have the time? I'm sure they'd be willing to help. Better yet if you give them a deadline I expect they'll be able to meet it.

It's getting to be too late for that, my engine is already a month behind the time frame that John gave me in the beginning and I'm now getting storage fees on the car ($480 as of today). I'm so far past the break even point that I don't care if I see the car again. I've missed out on the M-club event and DE that I had been looking forward to since last fall. The place that has the car will probably take 2 weeks to get it installed (They'll stop charging the storage fee when I bring them a motor, but I wouldn't expect them to drop what they're working on to bring my car back inside.) and I would still need to put some break-in miles on it. As a result I will be a no show at the 4-27 event.
I will be in Seattle for both the July events, add in the 4-27 event and that doesn't leave me with enough events to qualify for a season trophy.
The early may event doesn't look good either

Sam, He posted that while I was calling his shop...and I can't shake the feeling that I'm footing the bill for the food...

Unhappy

Dave, Sorry to hear that..thats what we call "Bad Business" here in the Mid-West. Out there in Cali, its just standard procedure. Id steer clear of both the engine and the BBQ...

With all the bad press that these "Bad Businesses" have received on the rennlist over last 5 years I can't figure out how they manage to rope in new customers.

I dont think it would be crazy to ask John to pay for the storage fee's if he ends up delivering the engine.

Wow, that all sucks.

It's decision time I guess...stick with it or call it quits. Crunch some numbers and see how you get out best...Perhaps take the car to Hershey and part it out there? Don't know how you'd get it out there though.

I get peeved when little things go wrong with my car...I'd be ripping my hair out if I was without the car for a few months because of a bad engine...
