Sam, It's bad business on the East coast too.
Adrial, John offered to "give me a credit or something on the storage fees" but he's made alot of offers and I haven't seen anything yet. I wouldn't have much use for an "AMW store credit" anyway if that's what he meant. He told me "my motor was sitting on the dock for a week and he thought someone had called me" AFTER he knew that I had been getting hit for $30/day and he still didn't pick up the phone, I initiated that call too. If it was going to come out of his pocket he would have been on top of it.

How many times has he promised a tracking number and not come through????

It's time to cancel and get money for storage...enough is enough as you've said. The storage fee's are blatantly his fault and I hope he will step up and pay. Either way, I think a lot of people will look hard at Dave's experience before doing business with John. At least if he pays the storage fee's, he'll be doing something respectable.

That's really not cool. I'd offer to let you drive my car on the 27th but I've already got a second driver(Rob, you met him last year).

If there's anything I can do to help you get your engine back together let me know. I'd be willing to work a weekend with you to get it back together. After all the expierience I've gotten on my car, I could probably have you together in two days of solid work. I'm not sure if your shop would let us work there though. If they could get the long block in and attached(to the torque tube and motor mounts) I could definately handle the rest. Maybe tow the car to your place? How's the weekend of the 20/21st?

John called me!
I've been on the phone with him several times in the last 1/2 hour and we're trying to get this straightened out.

Here's the latest. The storage issue has been worked out, provided there's a tracking number tonight. It appears that John IS trying to make things better at this point.

I was at John's shop yesterday, when the engine was picked up, and he called with the tracking #.

I was looking at another car at his shop, but I didn't stay long, as he neede to get work done.

Hey Luke!

I know this is an odd thing to say, but I thought I had carpel tunnel, but it turned out to be the motor mounts on my boyfriend's car! Shook the hell out of my hands and wrists, and hurt so bad, until I finally figured it out (the easy motor mount was replaced, the others were not!). Replaced the other 3 motor mounts, and wrists quit hurting relatively quickly.

Yep, John came through with the tracking number and by the middle of next week I hope to update this thread with a happy ending.

Dave: I feel for you. I'd offer you the use of my S2 for the 4-27 event, but only if you promise not to be faster than me!
