Default Q: Seat rails for Bride fixed bucket

Ok, so I'm going to fit some Bride Fixed Buckets in my 944. However I'm not sure what kind of rails I will need to do this. I emailed an exporter in Japan and he said Bride makes rails for the 993, 964 and 986.

Is the 944 floorplan the same as any of these cars?

If not, what are my options for mounting?

Cheers

You can probably use any aftermarket rails, most side plates for fixed back seats have the same hole spacing. I happen to have a brand new set of recaro rails for sale...

Cool, that's the impression I got from some sites but not others. There seems to be 'adapter plates' to fit brides onto recaro rails but I'm not sure if they are for bottom or side mounts.

I'm actually located in Australia so I don't think it would be very economical for me to buy your rails, but thanks

the Bride's were mentioned a couple times that it would be interesting to see if they would work in 944, but I don't think anyone on Rennlist has Bride seats in their car

Yeah, I'm intending to do a write-up if I manage to get it fitted. Someone has suggested direct mounting the seat to the floor, which will get me nice and low but is obviously not adjustable.

Mounting my seat to the floor was the only way to get the necessary headroom for me to fit with a helmet on...

Did it require drilling new mounting points?

Nope, but we fabbed extension plates for the front mounts, the side plates were too short to reach the factory holes without them.

Nice - might give that a go. I'm guessing you're pretty tall - how is position/visibility for daily driving? I'm 6'2"... hoping I don't lose too much visibility lol.
