As promised, pictures of my wheels
Here are the pictures of my '86 951 w/ Simmons OM wheels. Sizes are 18x8 w/ 225/40 Summitomos HTZII's and rears are 18x10 w/ 265/35's. The ride is similar to the 16'
s but the handling is crisper especially steering response and turn in.

I think that little reflector below the bumper is a rear fog light. The factory put the rear fog light in the taillight itself, FWIW. I'll shoot a pic of mine if anyone's interested.

The little reflector is a rear fog light as Bryan stated. It was optional on the 930's, but works well on the 951's. The factory rear fog lights don't light up that much so I use them as running lights. I live in a mountain so I sometimes get foggy days. I wired it up to a factory front fog light switch.

Excellent. I wish these would look as good on my NA. Unfortunately, I think the NA doesn't look quite right with certain wheels. Factory twists for example. I know lots of guys are using them and they do look good, but (it seems to me) thecar looks better/more "appropriate" with older styled wheels. Am I nuts?
So what's the story? Are these new or used and (sorry to ask) what could one expect to pay to get into a set of these? Any rubbing issues? Is the car stock height? Lowered? and did you do any special suspension changes per the Porsche Technical Bulletin? I thought some changes were necessary for 17's much less 18's. Story?

I feel left out.. although his paint is better than mine, and his camera, and well.. my car dosen't move anymore.. but here goes.
I can't decide what set I like better. I sure do love the look of the Simmons.

Man, you go to all the time and trouble to buy an awsome set of wheels, take some fine photos, place them on the list, and the best comment you get is "sweet"? Followed by the red reflector questions?
Lou my man, those wheels look AWSOME! Excellent photos too. I, and my Guards Red 86 951, are GREEN with envy! Give me the details - How much is it going to set me back to keep up with the Lou's?
Have you done any mods to allow for the wide tires and wheels?
If my wife see's this post I'll never be allowed to carry plastic again.

Thanks for the compliments. Here goes. The car has a stock suspension, I will be upgrading to Koni shocks soon followed by thicker swaybars and maybe springs and torsion bars. The wheel package is brand new. It took about 7 weeks for the wheels to arrive. They come from Down Under. I ordered them through Rayco II, a wheel and tire place in Little Ferry, New Jersey(ask for Frank), but Group A wheels carries them also. They'll set you back around $625.00 each, not including tires. Simmons has the offset perfected, they fit dead on w/ no problems what so ever. Since the car is an early offset, the rear wheels have about a 5" lip. I absolutley love 'em, makes the car "POP" in person especially from a rear 3/4 view. I've got some more pictures of the rest of the car including the interior which I will post as soon as I reduce the file size.

lou951,
That's a tight ride. Very "SWEET!!" as they say. I'm quite impressed.
Is that Euro spec? The Euro spec 930s had lights just like that.
Thanks for the great pics.

WOW!!! That is by far the best 944 interior I have ever seen! I love the aluminum kit and the matching wheel/shifter. Not to mention those crazy seats! Oh yeah, the wheels are hella nice too, I'll trade you for my design 90s .
