Thanks

Was a good experience - and we found out exactly what is needed to make a 951 pass without a cat
Amazing what some work with the DME will do.

just be careful running e85 on an otherwise stock car.

you're def running really lean when you're on E85 (or in your case diluted E85..prob E60 or so) ethanol requires 30% more fuel to be injected for stoichiometric combustion. that's probably beyond the rating of the injectors that you have installed.

LOL.. It's Funny who you are telling how to tune for E85....Sorry just funny. Pretty sure Josh has a decent handle on it

True...
E85 can help, but one needs to tune for it (and know wtf they are doing).
And obviously we were running Michaels car lean - have to run pretty lean in order to pass HC. The real benefit with E85 for emissions is that we can run leaner then Gas without driving up NOX and still be relatively safe.

In the 2nd & 3rd lests I only had about 3 gallons of E85 in with 10 gallons of gas. We didn't go to allmost full E85 until the final/4th test. Tests 3 & 4 were done with chips specifically designed to pass run on the fuel we were running and to pass the emissions. Also, since it hasn't been mention in awhile, the boost was greatly limited. The output of the banjo bolt was hooked straight to the waist gate and since this was strictly for emissions it was never driven hard enough to max out the injectors. We also used the FQS to to add more fuel and then dial it back. The chip Josh made was designed to stay in closed loop, and it was very clear that when we dialed back the fuel the DME would adjust. But it doesn't hurt to say it again Josh is a tunning god! So unless you get help from Josh or one of the few others with expert tunning skills you won't be able to do this. This information was posted to share the very valuable info we obtained about passing emissions.
