Failed Colorado emissions HC & NOx - PASSED!!!!

I guess I don't understand why you are even messing with the "what if" when there is a simple solution right in front of you.
Install a car with flanges on it so that you can remove it and run straight pipe the rest of the time. Seems like less work and hassle to me. (and a known solution)

MUCH cheaper, less work, more challenging, more fun, I get to learn more about how the car works, and get a better running car in the end. The only downside is it may take more time, but I have until the end of May to get my tags.

Having to program a custom chip, dig up the carpet, dig out the computer, change the chip, put it all back, HOPE THAT THE PROGRAMMING ACTUALLY PASSES, then reverse the process.
or.
Have a flange welded in while you read magazines in the lobby and KNOW it will pass.

meh- my computer is on the passenger floor most the time anyway... Besides, where is the fun in buying a cat and paying someone to install flanges?

Yep, drive to my house, have your daughter play with my daughter while we shoot the "stuff", drink beer and I loan you my factory cat pipe.
You install, pass emissions easily, remove cat pipe, come back to my house, our daughters play more, we drink more beer....
Sounds like fun to me!

Cole, I don't have the screws in the floorboard, so I can pull back the carpet, remove the board, remove the metal braket and pull the computer out in about 30 sec.
Doc, that does sound like a lot of fun, too. As I said, it may come to that, but I'm going to try at least one more time. If for no other reason than it would be much easier if every 2 years I just had to change the mode on the chip, rather than install and remove the cat.
Anyway, the debate why I am doing this can end. It comes down to, I think there is a reasonable chance of success with this and my choice with my car is to try this first.

Today I PASSED the emissions WITHOUT a cat! Rogue is a tunning GOD!!!!
I started with HC 3.1870 GPM, NOx was 4.4743 GPM & CO was good at 11.3668. The limits are 2.0, 4.0 & 20.0 respectively. There were a couple tests in between, but today I got 1.4976, 2.1713 & 3.1737. The HCs and NOx were cut in more than half. To do it, Rogue had me put E85 in my tank after it was almost empty. The NOx are caused by high cumbustion temps, so it is likely that the E85 made the big difference on it. Rogue also made me a new no chip. He can explain it a lot better than me, but the biggest improvement in the HCs came when he zeroed out the enrichment.
Thanks again Rogue!
