Default Ghetto underbody tray issue. A couple questions.

There's a 30 MPH speed limit sign beaten and abandoned in the woods along the road near my home (really). It's my civic duty to clean it up. It also should be the right size to replace my belly pan (at least from the bumper to the crossmember.

Any reason not to try it?

I want to use the threaded holes that are in the aluminum crossmember. Does anyone know what size thread pattern it is?

That's one point off your license in PA I think. Not sure about your area.

+1 on M6.

I was just thinking about doing something like this as well. I'm thinking a sheet of aluminum, and use those holes on the cross member that you mentioned, and then some dzus fasteners on the front bumper, and you'd have a nice undertray.

I was working on my Infiniti G37 over the weekend and was truly impressed by these plastic, reusable "rivets" they use to install plastic panels. Really cool, simple pieces.

996s (and probably Boxsters) use a lot of those plastic rivets to hold under trays and brake scoops on.

As for your sign - go for it! For $40, you can probably buy a sheet of thinner aluminum....

A point OFF? Sounds like a great opportunity!

Or do I have to "clean up" a sign in PA?

I know a guy that got arrested for picking up a stop sign that had gotten knocked down. He got pulled over when the cop saw it in the back of his pickup.

That's why you put it in a van or put a tarp over it....

Not that I have ever engaged in such activity....

A road sign is too thick and heavy for a belly pan. You have a later 944 don't you? You should be able to find those plastic belly pans. I used to see them on Ebay all the time. Or go to the Hershey swap meet in a couple of weeks. They'll have them there. It will keep you out of jail too.
