Default Got a great bike rack for my s2 cab

After much research and obsessing I purchased a 3 bike rack from Saris that works great on my s2 cab. Goes on and off in seconds and is very sturdy. Puts most of the load on the bumper so not bad for the car either.

Not cheap but nothing good is.

i just ordered a double wheel bag, i am hoping that the road bike will fit in the hatch with both wheels off.

edit:

i would use a velcro strap to keep your front wheel from swinging back and forth.

not really an option with a cab.

I usually use an old toe clip strap that I have. Just forgot this time.

One nice thing this rack has a frame strap that goes horizontally to keep the frame from sliding.

Hard to tell from the photo… will the exhaust hit the bikes tire?

Dare I say... I love the bike more than the car? ::
Watching Paris Roubaix race right now... so maybe I'm in a cycling mood.

I definitely spend more time on the bike then in the car. But I love them both and with the rack I can drive the fun car to the rides so I get both more often

If you look at the second picture the is lots of space between the exhaust and the tire

yeah, i know its not an option for you

i have a "dork strap" (band for around your pant leg) that i use. there is no buckle to worry about damaging paint.

A road bike fits perfectly in the hatch of a 944 with just the front wheel off. Plenty of room for gear, and the front wheel.

i ride a 60cm frame with quite a bit of seatpost exposed. think it will still fit?

i would try it, but my interior is apart and stored in my hatch...

I would think so. I ride a 56, and it fits fine. No issues at all. When I get my car back from the paint shop, I will try to take a picture with the bike in the hatch.

Nice, I actually looked at the Saris bike rack for my cab too! but wasn't sure if it would work since I couldn't find any specs/ideas on it, now I know! - Thanks for sharing!

Does the 2-bike Saris Bones fit the same? I guess I could check later on their site.

...and I am surprised someone hasn't said a bike rack doesn't belong on a porsche/sports car (usually that was the responses I saw on threads on bike racks when I researched).... blahblah who cares people

Yes the 2 bike will fit the same. I just decided on the 3 if I want to put it on another car nice to have the extra capacity.

I am with you this is complete stupidity. What could be better than a nice roof down drive to the country, Unload the bike for a good workout in clean air and then go home in style. My two favorite pastimes together
