Exclamation WANTED!: NA 944 TRANNY IN TRADE FOR MY 944 TURBO TRANNY DETAILS INSIDE:

I am in need of an NA tranny since my 944 Turbo one does not fit my needs anymore. My tranny is from an 86 944 Turbo with new synchros, ring and pinion at 96,000 miles. The tranny now has about 130,000. It has been in FEW drag races, but i have NEVER attempted to churp tires or do donuts, burnouts, or any other forms of abuse on this transmission.

I am specifically looking for any year 83-89 944 NA transmission with less than 110,000 miles. It must shift smooth and be nearly race-free. Please email me at pors944@earthlink.net if you wish to make offer or trade. No cores allowed, i already have 1 chilling in my back yard. Thank you for reading...

Hello Eurospec

I have an '83 trans with 137K on it that is out of a driver. I know it to be good and quiet - drove the car from San Francisco to So. Cal. and ended up parting out. It's real healthy and I'd be willing to trade. I am also local if that is attractive. Trans is in the car still in Riverside.

Matt, your transmission sounds very acceptable to me, I am located in Chula Vista. You can email me or call me at 619-934-6466 about your offer. I am very short on money right now and i am willing to trade a perfectly good and almost fresh 951 tranny for a normally aspirated one. Thanks for the reply!

Just in case you don't know: the 83-85 trans has a different speedo set-up than the 85.5-89. The later models have an electric speedo. Ask me how I know.....

on early cars wasn't the speedometer connected to the front wheel? On my 944 Turbo tranny which is on right now I think that has the same setup as the ones with the electronic speedometers. My Computer Assisted Shifting light also doesn't work because of this tranny.

Also the gear-ratios changed in '87 on the NA to be more reasonable...
