Post Good (fair) mechanics in Pittsburgh?

Slave cylinder gave up on me and I'm 250 miles from home and my usualy mechanic while I'm at school here in Pittsburgh (University of Pittsburgh, Oakland area). Anyone know of a good mechanic who is close by? Preferably a short drive since the clutch is dragging and I don't really want to have to go very far with it like that.

Thanks.

ZV,

There is Manage My Car in Castle Shannon(412)-563-0700, Raysich in Bridegville, C+G Performance out in the Sewickly area. Auto Palace is on Baum Blvd.(but they are a dealer). Don't use German Motor Works(good for VW, not good for P-car). I can't think of any more off the top of my head. I have used both MMC and C+G(both have factory-trained mech's. "Champ" at C+G used to run the Sewickly dealer service dept. and Mike at MMC worked for Champ at the dealer), my buddy swore by Raysich when he had his 928. If I can think of others, I will post back.

Just got off the phone with MMC, very impressed with them. Thanks very much for the recommendation.

Auto Palace is right there in Oakland.
Have heard good things about C+G and Champ is a champ.

Couldn't find C+G in the phone book so that left me with MMC.

Honestly, I'd probably have been impressed with any of the people mentioned. Just luck of the draw on who I called first.

ZV,

I hope it works out. When you are there look for the 916 racecar and the "neglected" Guards 951 I mentioned the other day in my thread. Tell Chris and Joe that Eric says "hi".

I gotta throw props to Dave Handza and his garage in Braddock.

It's a hole in the wall and he can be rough around the edges, but his work is excellent, he specializes in the 944s and has taken care of me for years.

Dave's Auto Service has saved my bacon numerous times.
Dave Handza(aka) Snake has most of the Porsche part numbers memorized. He has forgotten more than all others collectively
Knew. His prices are fair.
His garage is not easy to find. You have to work at locating him.

Can't some of us "locals" help this guy out and change his slave?
